4:30 am came VERY early today and I just wasn't up to ride on the trainer. I was cold and cranky and just wanted to crawl back in bed. But, I didn't.
I went and made some coffee and grabbed a bottle of water and sat down and took a deep sniff of the coffee. Not much is better than the aroma of great coffee early and it put me in better spirits. I sat there with the cup of coffee to my nose breathing in the wonderful aroma. I caught up on work emails and realized it was 6:15a. I had an hour ride scheduled and I had exactly an hour to get my ride in so I grabbed my laptop with my Spinnervals DVD and ran to the barn where my trusty stead awaited. An hour later I'd put in a great workout and was proud that I didn't give up this workout. I ran to the house grabbed a banana and water and chaueffered the kids off to school. After my last drop off I went ahead and did the day's running interval workout. Though it was VERY windy I had a great run and got my workouts in.
In years past I would have given up. I would have said, "not today!". But, not this time. This time I didn't blow the workouts off. This has been a growing trend because I've not blow off any of the workouts and there have been many occasions when I just didn't want to, but did it anyways. Maybe not the time I had planned, or where I planned but I've gotten it done. I CAN DO THIS!
